FAQs

Product & Raw Material

Our pellet mill processes wood sawdust, wood chips, straw, rice husk, peanut shell, bamboo dust, fruit tree branches and other biomass waste. Different dies are available for various feedstock. Raw materials should be crushed to 3‑5 mm with moisture 10‑15% for premium‑quality pellets. A dryer is required for high‑moisture materials.

Good‑quality woody materials require NO binders. Pellets form naturally by lignin under high temperature and pressure. Straw‑type materials are harder to pelletize; small amounts of additives may be needed in some cases. We will advise based on your actual raw material.

Moisture>18%: loose pellets, poor forming, easy mildew.
Moisture<8%: heavy wear, low output, frequent blockage.
Optimal moisture: 10‑15%. If raw material moisture is out of range, hammer mill and rotary dryer are recommended.

Ring‑die pellet mill: for medium‑large industrial plants, supports 24‑h continuous running, high output and long service life, ideal for commercial pellet factories.

Flat‑die pellet mill: for small workshops & home use, lower investment, not designed for non‑stop long‑time production. We recommend the best model according to your target output, site space and budget.

Selection & Solution

To prepare an accurate proposal, please provide:

1.raw material type; 2. target output per hour; 3.raw‑material moisture; 4. local voltage & frequency; 5. workshop size; 6.budget.

Our engineers supply equipment list, layout drawing and budget for free. Material test is available at our factory.

Our industrial ring‑die pellet machines support 24‑hour continuous operation, provided proper raw‑material preparation and regular maintenance for wearing parts (die, roller). Small flat‑die models are NOT recommended for non‑stop running.

Yes. Motors can be customized to match local voltage & frequency (380V/415V/440V, 50Hz/60Hz) for different countries.

Basic set: hammer mill + pellet mill.
Full automatic production line: hammer mill → dryer → pellet mill → cooler → sieve → packing machine, with conveyor, dust‑removal and electric control system. Configuration can be adjusted as required.

Cost depends on output and configuration. Small single‑machine starts from several thousand USD; small‑medium complete lines range from tens of thousands USD; large automatic lines cost more. Please send your output requirement for formal quotation.

Troubleshooting

What causes poor pellet formation and loose pellets?

Common causes: improper raw‑material moisture; incorrect die‑roller gap; too large feedstock size; worn die. Adjust moisture, gap or replace die according to manual.

Causes: excessive moisture, over‑fast feeding, hard impurities in raw material, blocked die holes. Stop machine for cleaning, reduce feeding speed, screen raw material and maintain die. Never restart under heavy load.

Actual output is affected by raw‑material type, moisture, particle size and operator skill. Rated output is based on qualified wood sawdust. Output will decrease for straw, bark and similar feedstock. We will inform expected capacity in advance.
